Is Coaching Right For Life After Baby Loss And Grief?

But Yolanda, let’s be honest, is coaching right for life after baby loss and grief?

This is a question I have been asked many times. I know it can be confusing, there are so many types of coaching out there: life coaching, business coaching, executive coaching, career coaching, leadership coaching, just to mention a few.

I could spend a whole blog post trying to explain the differences between coaching and therapy, but I rather share my personal perspective with you.

My Personal Perspective

After I lost Max, I went to a Psychologist. Therapy and EMDR sessions were really helpful enabling me to talk about my experience and my feelings. It definitely helped me survive the trauma of loss and cope with my grief; the only downsides for me were the time constraint (long waiting lists and I couldn’t see or talk with my therapist when I needed her the most) and the fact that we kept focusing on my trauma, my problems and my past was a bit draining to me at a certain point.

When I felt a bit ready to move forward, I started learning more about Positive Psychology, Coaching and Post-Traumatic Growth, I feel that that combination helped me move from survival mode to a more optimistic/thriving mode, using my experience and the endless love for Max for my personal growth.

My Work As A Life & Loss Coach

As a Life & Loss Coach and also as Max’s mother, I strive to work together with my clients to support them in the process of adjusting to their new reality, integrating their loss, finding new meaning and growth.

I offer my time, energy and knowledge to create a safe space for my clients to be themselves and through our sessions create transformational change, the type of change that will serve them positively moving forward.

Coaching or Therapy?

Whether you choose for coaching, therapy or any other type of support, what matters is that you feel comfortable with the style of the services offered and that they match with what you feel that you need the most.

You Can Do This!

Taking the first step can feel a bit scary and be a bit difficult at first, but it is actually more difficult to stay stuck in grief and try to figure it all out by yourself. Navigating life after baby loss and grief is much easier when you have support.

If you are already thinking about it, please give it a try. There are currently many options in this online & offline world, including myself, waiting to support you.

Love, Yolanda.
